On October 5-6, Jennifer Cohen attended the Annual Meeting of the State Insurance Trade Associations, held in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to meeting with the CEO's of other state trades, she obtained valuable industry perspectives for the coming year. On presentation of particular note was made by Dr. Robert Hartwig of the Industry Information Institute. His insights on the economic state of the p/c industry were invaluable. Another speaker of note was Julie Rochman, President and CEO of the Institute for Business & Home Safety. The IBHS is building a "state of the art, multi-peril applied research and training facility" in Chester, South Carolina. This Center will be fully operational in mid-2010 and will provide tangible information about reducing and preventing disaster-related property losses.
